Toodlethings Extension

Safari 5 was released yesterday, with an update including support for extensions, something called Safari Reader (a great way to look at articles distraction-free, kind of like an instant view of an Instapaper’d article), hardware-acceleration for Windows and a couple more features I don’t remember.

I figured I’d try to get a bit ahead of the game and create an extension of my own. Extensions in Safari are essentially CSS / JavaScript, which makes them very understandable and easy to implement.

I took one of my favourite GreaseMonkey userscripts, Toodlethings (a user styling script for the productivity manager, Toodle-do. more about that later), and decided to convert it into a brand new Safari extension.

Here’s the download:

Toodle Things for Safari

You will need Safari 5 to install it. Enable Safari extensions by turning on the Develop menu in Safari Preferences, then clicking on “Enable Extensions” in the develop menu.

Special thanks to Nonimage and garfield for the CSS and the original scripts. I suppose you could call this a port.
